Dong Fangzhuo has parted company with Manchester Untied by mutual consent after over four years with the European champions.The Chinese international arrived at Old Trafford in January 2004 but has made just one Premier League appearance for the Premier League trophy holders - a match at Chelsea in May 2007 when the championship had already been won.
Dong spent almost three years on loan with Belgium club Royal Antwerp in order to attain a UK work permit.
Despite his return to England, it was clear that the player was not close to a place in United’s starting eleven.
"Dong Fangzhuo's United contract has been cancelled by mutual consent," United said on the official club website.
While the player is now a free agent, the Chinese media is reporting that the 23 year-old will return to former club Dalian Shide.
