Seedorf: Sheva's Still Got It

AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has tipped Andrei Shevchenko to make a glorious return to Serie A following his horror stint at Chelsea. Shevchenko is on the verge of ending his ill-fated two-year spell at Stamford Bridge by returning to the San Siro, after the Blues and the Rossoneri agreed a season-long loan at the weekend. The Ukrainian striker was among the most exciting players in the world when he arrived in London for an English-record fee of £30million. However, he has since slipped into obscurity, managing just nine goals and 47 Premier League appearances. Many have questioned whether the 30-year-old can recapture the form that saw him named European Footballer of the Year in 2004, with some suggesting he will never recover from his Chelsea ordeal. But Seedorf thinks otherwise, insisting the former Dynamo Kyiv hitman will be especially hungry to succeed when he returns to Italy. The Dutchman told the press: "Andrei will certainly be very motivated and he will have the desire to demonstrate that he is not that which we have seen in London and that he is a true footballer." Shevchenko will undergo a medical in the next few days before officially rejoining il Diavolo.
