Juventus have confirmed that they have asked the Italian league for Jorge Andrade's contract to be rescinded.
Andrade signed for the Bianconeri two years ago but he has been hampered by constant knee ligament injuries, forcing him to make only three appearances during that time.
The club have now decided to cut all ties with the Portuguese defender and they have asked the league for the player's contract to be terminated.
A statment released by the club reads:
"The Juventus board announce that we have asked the Lega for the contract which expires in 2010 to be terminated.
"The player will undergo a medical in order for an expert report to be compiled within the next few weeks."
Juventus paid €10m for the player and they are not prepared to carry on paying him. Andrade cost the Bianconeri €6.8m in wages last season.
