European Champions Spain were in training today ahead of their World Cup Qualifer with Estonia at the weekend and it looks as though Vicente Del Bosque is set to play both Xavi and Xabi Alonso in midfield for the match...Spain might have lost their manager following their triumph at Euro 2008 but so far they seem to have lost none of the momentum which guided them to the title.
Vicente Del Bosque's side have already won their first two qualifiers and they face Estonia this weekend as they bid to make it nine points from nine. To help them do that it looks as though they will utilise both Xabi Alonso and Xavi in the centre of midfield rather than the more defensive option of Marcos Senna
The Villarreal player was a near permanent fixture in the side in Austria and Switzerland but it seems as though Del Bosque will look to attack Estonia, who are likley to sit back and try to pick Spain off on the counter.
The midfield issue aside the manager is likley to be relieved that Santi Cazorla, Andrés Iniesta and Carles Puyol all returned to training today following a day off. The only player now suffering from injury before the match is Raúl Albiol, who picked up a knock whilst with Valencia last week.
Albert Riera was also in training today following his call-up after Diego Capel was ruled out due to injury. The addition of the winger means that he is the fifth Liverpool player in the squad along with Fernando Torres, Alvaro Arbeloa, Pepe Reina and Xabi Alonso.
