I Just Want To Help Manchester United
Cristiano Ronaldo has been a little on edge of late whilst speaking to the press. He's been bullish over his sub-Ballon d'Or form of late, having scored for fun throughout last season, all the time recognised as Manchester United's key man.
Now, though, he's back on the goal trail: he scored a brace to round off an easy win over West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday before his penalty was the difference between the Red Devils and Everton at the weekend.
However, the Portuguese winger insists that United won't be greedy. He'd be happy with more 1-0 wins - a common score for United this term - and further clean sheets.
"We played well and if we win every game 1-0 it's good," he smiled to the press after the Toffees test.
"Sometimes it's important to score goals, but Everton are a difficult team to play against. We have to appreciate the attitude and character of their team.
"Still, we played well - especially in the first half when we created a few chances and managed to score the goal."
Looking forward, he continued, "We are top of the league and the lads are playing very well.
"I am happy with my season, but the most important thing is the team and I want to carry on helping."
On yet another Premier League clean sheet kept by the team and, of course, goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, Ronaldo added, "It's unbelievable! Edwin deserves it because he is a great goalkeeper and a great man.
"He works a lot for his age, although I'm happy because the defenders support him a lot, too."
