Kaka To Miss Italy And Inter

Milan registered a disappointing 1-1 draw against bottom of the log Reggina on Saturday night. The Rossoneri were in for a shock after a fantastic start that saw the home side looking comfortable and creating a great deal of opportunities, before the game was suddenly turned on its head and a goal from the Amaranto against the run of play gave Reggina the lead. Former Milan youth player Davide Di Gennaro was the goal scorer, but the Rossoneri were not ready to except the result and just after the hour mark Kaka equalised from a penalty after Alexandre Pato was brought down in the box. Milan applied great pressure on their Calabrian visitors, but they were unable to break down their opponents and had to settle for a draw. Star player Kaka was forced to come off 12 minutes from time with an injury. The club confirmed earlier today that the Brazil international will be sidelined for at least two weeks. An official statement said, “AC Milan communicates that Kaka underwent medical tests today which confirmed a sprain to his left foot, ruling out a more serious injury. The prognosis is that he will be out for at least a fortnight.” As well as next weekend's derby, Kaka will miss Tuesday's friendly international against Italy and may still be unavailable for the match against Cagliari on February 22.
