Sell Kaka, Buy Ade

In public Milan may be stating that Kaka is not leaving, however, a report from Spain suggests that the club are preparing for his sale and have already lined up one signing with the money earned... Milan are planning to use the money that they will receive from selling Kaka to buy Emmanuel Adebayor from Arsenal. Meanwhile, Philippe Mexes is also on the club's agenda, according to a report in AS. The Brazilian superstar and the Serie A club may have denied stories linking him with a move to Real Madrid, but the publication believes that behind the scenes they recognise his sale as a reality. With a bid of around €60 million said to be prepared, Milan know that such a huge fee for one player would ease their financial burden, especially as they are planning their own rebuilding process in the summer. According to the Spanish sports daily, the Rossoneri's vice president, Adriano Galliani, has already earmarked around half of the fee to make an approach for Adebayor. For the board and coaching staff at Milan, the Togolese striker would be the perfect foil up front for Pato as the club bid to make a challenge for the Scudetto next term. The Kaka cash would also allow the club to make a €16 million move for Roma's Mexes as they look to bolster their defence. Meanwhile, it is reported that Yoann Gourcuff will return from a loan spell at Bordeaux, although the young Frenchman has a buyout clause in his loan deal that allows the Aquitaine outfit to purchase him for around €13m. Milan have stated that they will look to use many more home-grown players in the current economic climate, however, the offer from Madrid means that they could also bring in some quality players. AS believe that the Italian giants are aware that one major player will have to be sold and they would rather let Kaka go than Pato, the squad's second most valuable asset.
