First Kaka, Now Ronaldo
Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has confirmed that the club are close to completing the transfer of Kaka from AC Milan, and added that long-time target Cristiano Ronaldo could be set to follow him to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Reported earlier today that the Brazilian Football Federation confirmed that Kaka had completed his medical examination and that the deal could be concluded by midnight tonight.
Now Perez, who confirmed his return to the Los Blancos boardroom last week, has stated that Madrid is the only destination for the 27-year- old, re-iterating that the deal could be clinched this evening.
Sky Italia reports that Perez said, "If he [Kaka] decides to leave AC Milan, then Real Madrid is the only club for him. It is possible that in the night he will be announced a [Real] Madrid player."
In addition to the pending Kaka deal, Perez has also claimed that he maintains interest in Cristiano Ronaldo, but added that it is important that the club continue to repair their damaged relations with Manchester United over the Portuguese winger's proposed move to Madrid.
He added, "We want to take [Cristiano] Ronaldo to Real Madrid also, but first we must speak to Manchester United.
"The most important thing is that we maintain a good relationship with Manchester United."
Finally, the construction supremo added Zlatan Ibrahimovic's name of potential targets for Los Merengues, but was quick to add that it is not feasible to sign all the players that the club are linked with.
He concluded, "[Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and [Cristiano] Ronaldo are among the best players in the world, but it is impossible to take them all to Madrid."
