Transfer Will Be Completed In A Few Days

Real Madrid have officially confirmed that they have had an offer for Cristiano Ronaldo accepted by Manchester United after the English club announced the move this morning. The Spanish giants issued a statement on their club website and revealed that they expect the deal to be finalised within a matter of days. "Real Madrid can confirm that an offer to Manchester United to acquire the rights of Cristiano Ronaldo has been accepted," the statement read. "The club hope to reach an agreement with the player in the next few days." Ronaldo is currently on holiday in Los Angeles, but advisers from Madrid will not jet out to join him and discuss personal terms before arranging when he will be presented at the Santiago Bernabeu. Manchester United issued their own statement on their website early on Thursday morning that broke the news that they had agreed to the world record transfer bid of £80 million (€94m). Madrid had already flown out a doctor with United's permission to examine the player after reports that he may require a hernia operation, but they have now stated that he does not. Instead, Ronaldo will continue with the course of specific exercises that he is currently doing and his progress will now be monitored by Madrid's medical staff and not United's.
