Real Madrid Deal With Manchester City To Fernando Gago

According to fresh reports in Spain this evening, Manchester City got as far as agreeing a fee for Real Madrid’s Fernando Gago before they ran out of time. With the transfer window slamming shut at 5pm, Manchester City officials were said to be frantically attempting to finalise the deal but were eventually beaten by the clock. According to reports in Spanish daily Marca, City agreed an €18 million fee for the midfielder but could not complete the deal until they had an official agreement from club chairman Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who they could not reach in time. The Blancos originally decided not to sell Fernando Gago due to concerns over numbers in personnel, however City’s millions are said to have finally enticed the Real Madrid directors to let Gago go. It was very busy day for Manchester City officials who were also reportedly in Italy attempting to seal a deal for Parma midfielder McDonald Mariga, however the Kenyan midfielder signed for Inter instead.
