Ancelotti: I Want An All Italian UEFA Cup Final
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti admits he would like an all Italian UEFA Cup final against Napoli.
The Rossoneri tactician is in the port city as he prepares his side for the Trofeo Moretti on Thursday evening which sees the Partenopei as well as Juventus take part.
Ancelotti is confident ahead of the friendly tournament and he hopes his side can continue to impress following their 4-1 demolition of Juve on Sunday.
“I really hope we can meet Napoli in the final of the UEFA Cup,” Ancelotti told Il Corriere Dello Sport.
“The Moretti? We are happy to take part in such a competition. It’s always nice to return and play in Napoli.
“I can never forget Maradona’s Napoli. Pierpaolo Marino and Aurelio De Laurentiis are doing some great things and it would be a great thing to see a competitive Napoli side in Europe.
“Before the game against Juventus were not doing so well but now we hope we can do well in the Moretti in order to start off the Serie A campaign well.”
Milan have replaced Inter at this year’s tournament because the Nerazzurri decided to snub the Moretti, believing it was not worth the hassle.
The Rossoneri are in confident mood going into the game but both the Bianconeri and Napoli will be ready to spoil the party.
