Villa To Miss Next Three Games

David Villa could be set to miss Valencia's next three matches after picking up knock during the club's UEFA Cup encounter with Marítimo on Thursday evening. The Spanish international only played for the final 12 minutes of the che's 1-0 victory in Portugal but still finished the game with a strain that had the coaching staff worried. After flying home, doctors ran a series of tests on Villa and have announced that he is expected to be out of action for at least ten days. Valencia are due to play Osasuna this weekend, also take on Málaga in a rare midweek outing in la Primera and then play Deportivo in the following match. Villa's absence will be noted given that David Silva is also out of action and coach Unai Emery will have to juggle his side to compensate. Los Che won their opening game of the campaign by easing to victory over Real Mallorca before coming from two goals down last weekend to earn a point at Almería. While initial tests have revealed how long Villa will be out for, the forward is set to have more in order to allow medics to draw up a specific recovery programme for him.
