Capello To Watch Milan's Beckham on Milan-Genoa

With Fabio Capello set to announce his squad for a friendly against Spain on 11 February, David Beckham’s fine performance for Milan on Sunday could not have come at a better time. The on-loan LA Galaxy midfielder scored his first goal in Serie A at Bologna yesterday afternoon, rifling in a right-foot shot that found the top corner, helping the Rossoneri to a convincing 4-1 win away from home. Capello is expected to fly in for the match on Wednesday at the San Siro in order to observe Beckham playing for Milan, according to The Telegraph. The Englishman moved to Il Diavolo on loan from his MLS team for a short two-and-a-half month stint in order to remain fit and competitive for his country, in the hopes that he will remain an English international for as long as possible. The former England captain will be hoping that Capello selects him for the next England game, which would mark his 108th England cap, equalling Bobby Moore’s record as England’s most capped outfield player. If Beckham continues to impress in Serie A, he will surely receive the call up he desires from the former Milan coach.
