No Problem With Rome

UEFA President Michel Platini arrived in Rome on Monday as the former Juventus player begins preparations for the Champions League final, set to be played at the Stadio Olimpico on May 27. In recent months, the English press have speculated that the final could be moved due to crowd trouble associated with Italian football. However, Platini extinguished all doubt, claiming he expects a fantastic event. "Everything is ready for the spectacle and we are sure there will be no problems," he made clear to Eurosport. "It will certainly be a genuine festival of football." Meanwhile, the Champions League trophy also appeared in the Italian capital on Monday and the 53-year-old was asked is he and the 'cup with the big ears' came together. "Did the cup come with me? No, it came secretly." The finalists of Europe's top competition have yet to be decided, with Chelsea and Barcelona making up one semi-final and the other consisting of Arsenal and Manchester United.
