Jorge Valdano In Arsene Wenger & Franck Ribery Talks

Jorge Valdano has held talks with representatives of Arsene Wenger and Franck Ribery in Paris, seeking to line both up to join Real Madrid under Florentino Perez in the summer, according to a report.
The Argentinean will form a key part of the board at the Bernabeu if Perez wins the presidential election and his mission has been to secure the services of several star names.
Wenger's hints to the press that he finds the Madrid job "interesting" stem from a meeting that his agent had with los Blancos in the French capital last Tuesday, AS state.
"This time it is looking more likely than ever," a source close to the manager is quoted as saying.
Assurances have apparently been made that Perez, Valdano and Zinedine Zidane, who is expected to form part of the presidential team, will not interfere in coaching or sporting director roles, both of which Wenger could assume.
That has reportedly been one huge sticking point for the Arsenal boss as he would want a similar level of control in Madrid that he enjoys at the Premier League outfit.
With those promises in place and the offer of a huge budget for players, AS believe that Wenger could be considering a move he has previously rejected in 2003 and in 2006.
Valdano also spoke to Ribery's representatives and laid out what would be on offer if the French winger makes a summer move away from Bayern Munich.
