Real Madrid president-to-be Florentino Perez will make a move for Valencia forward David Villa this summer, but he refuses to spend more than €35 million.
According to AS, Perez's priorities are Villa's club-mate, David Silva, and Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, after which he will turn his attention to Villa.
'El Guaje' is not seen as a massive priority, since Madrid are already well stocked in the forward department, with Gonzalo Higuain, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Raul and Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Ex-Blancos supremo Ramon Calderon bid €40 million for Villa last summer, but Valencia rejected the offer. However, their financial troubles, coupled with their failure to qualify for the Champions League, should see a reduction in the fee.
To that effect, Perez is prepared to offer up to €35 million.
All of that may be null and void, however, as Villa has maintained his desire to stay at the Mestalla, should the club not wish to sell him.
