Franck For Barca?

Barcelona are set to raise their interest in Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery once again, despite Real Madrid’s belief that the player will move to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer. Both Spanish sides were linked with the Frenchman during the summer months, with Los Blancos thought to have an agreement with the German club over a deal for Ribery to move in 2010. However, according to Spanish publication Marca, Blaugrana boss Pep Guardiola wants the former Marseille playmaker to move to the Camp Nou and will attempt to supersede any offer from Madrid in an attempt to secure the 26-year old’s services. Guardiola looks set to lose Thierry Henry at the end of the season, with a move to the US Major League Soccer expected to be completed, prompting the coach to actively seeking a replacement on the left-hand side of Barcelona’s three-pronged strikeforce. The treble champions have also been linked with a move for Valencia duo David Silva and Juan Mata to fill the problem position, but they are now expected to step up their bid to land Ribery from under the noses of their arch rivals.
