The Bianconeri’s recent run of poor results has led to many questioning the ability of Ranieri as a coach of the club. Another poll has therefore taken place to see what the public think about this issue, and the results are now in…The 2008/09 Serie A season is Claudio Ranieri’s second season as head coach of Juventus, however after guiding his side to an impressive third place finish last season, life has certainly got a little tougher in the early stages of this season for the former Chelsea manager.
A new poll has been undertaken to give an indication as to what exactly the Bianconeri fans and supporters of Italian football think of this, and the results are now in.
Tuttusport.com has reported that after two days of voting, “voters responded with affection, passion, frenzy, and with emotional involvement,” according to an editor of the site.
64% of voters have decided that it is time for Ranieri to leave the club, whilst 36% have a hope of retaining the coach, and believe that he has what it takes to change the course of the season.
The resounding result is certain to put even more pressure on the Bianconeri boss, as with almost ten thousand clicks on the site and hundreds of e-mails to clog the tuttosport.com system, many are convinced that his time is up in Turin.
Meanwhile Goal.com's international edition ran its own poll last week. Fully 60% of voters felt that Ranieri's time was up, while just 12% said that he should be kept on indefinitely. (See the full results here.)
Life as a coach would certainly not be over for Ranieri, however according to the Juve tifosi and fans of Italian football, it’s time for Juventus to move on.
The international break may prove to be the time required for the Juve tactician to get his side back on track, as their clash with Napoli at the San Paolo next weekend could be a decisive moment with regard to the future of Claudio Ranieri. Defeat would be disastrous.
