Mutu To Join Milan In June

In form Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu could be heading to Milan after his agent Alessandro Moggi was seen at the Rossoneri's headquarters in Via Turati on Tuesday afternoon. Rossoneri chief Adriano Galliani had said earlier in the week that his club wouldn't be moving and shaking in the transfer market but the latest turn of events would suggest otherwise. Sky Sport Italia claim the hit-man's agent met club directors with a view to begin talks over a possible deal which could see the prolific hit-man arrive in June. Mutu has been outstanding so far this term and it seems as if Christmas will come late for the San Siro side. The striker is likely to consider the move and reports suggest either Andriy Shevchenko or Marco Borriello will head the other way. The Romanian was linked with Milan all summer but he was on the verge of joining Roma before the move collapsed at the last minute. Everything seemed in place but the Viola owners scuppered the deal. They may now reconsider their options and a mega bid from the Diavolo could swing the scales in their favour. The hit-man will be involved in Champions League action later tonight when his side lock horns with Lyon. A win is necessary if his side are to have any hope of getting into the next round.
