Carlo Ancelotti: John Terry = F. Baresi + Paolo Maldini
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has complimented England centre-back John Terry by comparing him to two true legends of the game.
The Italian feels that Terry shares some key characteristics with his countrymen Franco Baresi and Paolo Maldini, surely two of the greatest defenders ever to have played football.
"Terry is like Franco Baresi and Paolo Maldini in personality, character and leadership," Ancelotti told The London Evening Standard.
"I am very lucky to have this player as my captain."
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich also drew comparison with a figure from Ancelotti's Milan past.
The Russian is a very similar type of owner to Milan supremo Silvio Berlusconi apparently, with both men taking a keen and passionate interest in on-pitch affairs.
"Abramovich is like Berlusconi," Ancelotti added.
"He has a passion for his club, he likes to speak about football, as does Berlusconi. Both of them like to watch football on television. After a game he comes to the dressing room.
"I never think that if I don't win games Roman will remove me. My aim is to do the best for this club, as I have done for other clubs."
